Nocturne (Visions of Ontario)
William J. Hall - December 5, 1978

Crowded city winter streets
Rushing far below -
I'm upstairs laying changes down
On this here grand piano
Thinking of the friends I've had
And people that I know
Of weighs and means
And landscape scenes
Of north Ontario

Sometimes I'm up
Sometimes down
Sometimes I've overboard
Sometimes underground
On occasion very blue
And weary of the town
I need some time to clear my mind
And turn this thing around

New York City is very nice
Pretty girls and Broadway nights
Freezing rain and melting ice
The sidewalks piled with snow
Always moving all the time
Always on the go
Give my best
For a good night's rest
In north Ontario

Wish upon a falling star
See what I can see
I'm very certain where we are   (original: I'm very certain everything)
Will be what it will be
Hope everything turns out by far   (original: Seems like everything turns out)
For the best eventually
Until that's so   (original: Even so)
North Ontario
Looks just fine to me

New York City is very nice
Pretty girls and Broadway nights
Freezing rain and melting ice
The sidewalks piled with snow
Always moving all the time
Always on the go
Lately it seems
I find my dreams
In north Ontario
