Winter Coming In
William J. Hall - October, 1991

Call me a romantic...
I can find no answer...
Like a pony with just one trick
I don't know another.
I watch the geese take to the sky,
See the hills fill with color,
I don't stop now to wonder why
I wonder:
Is it just the blue moon
Riding high on the All-Hallows wind -
Could this be winter
Coming in

We talk on the phone a while
And it don't change the distance -
Still my mind's eye reveals your smile
For an instant.
I pretend I hold you next to me...
We stare into the fire,
Watch dawn come thundering up over the trees
Together -
Is it just the blue moon
Riding high on the All-Hallows wind -
Could this be winter
Coming in

I rode into town this afternoon
Looking for diversion
But like that one-trick pony I suppose I'll never learn
My lesson -
'Cause it doesn't matter where I go,
Doesn't matter what I say or I do,
Really doesn't matter much who I'm with...
I spend my nights and days dreaming of you.
Is it just the blue moon
Riding high on the All-Hallows wind -
Could this be winter
Coming in
